Summaries of sections.

Czars continue autocratic rule: Alexander III watched everyone under his rule and made sure they followed his rules exactly how he wanted and if not they'd be executed or sent to prison.

The revolutionary movement grows: Marist revs. believed that workers would overthrow the Czar so they made a group to prevent it but wound up slitting into 2 groups know as the bolsheviks and the Mensheviks.

The russo- Japanese war: Japan and Russia competed for control of Korea and Manchuria but wound up coming to an agreement which the russians broke and that led up to the Japanese attacking the Russians.

Bloody Sunday: Workers and families protested outside the kings palace, the King ordered his men to shoot the protestors, Russians later renamed the even Bloody Sunday.

World war 1: Nicolas decided to involve Russia in the world war also while fighting the Japanese people which enabled people to find out the Czar gov weaknesses and his wife was letting a "Healer"
make very important political positions.

the Czar steps down: Nicholas II steps down from throne, him and his family are later murdered, a provisional government was established, Russia's gov worsened.

Lenin returns to Russia: Germans thought Lenin and his supportes would distrn the war with Russia so they exiled him from the country then later had him returned.

The provisional government topples: Armed factory workers took over government offices.

Bolsheviks in power: Lenin and Bolsheviks gave control of factories over to the workers.

Civil war rages in Russia: War got worse, 14 million Russians died, famine, red army defeated the white army,

Comparing world revolutions: Both the French and Russian revolutions attempted to destroy social and political structures.

New economic policy: Lenin put aside his plans for a state controlled economy.

Political reforms: Started communism
